We are now interviewing for Teachers/ Co-Teachers, Teacher Assistants, Care-Givers, Substitutes, and SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS. We strive to create a working environment that is pleasant, flexible, and rewarding. Happy staff both perform better and stay with the school longer. If you have an interest in working with children (and a little patience), we encourage you to apply. We know your experiences at our school will be gratifying and worthwhile. Full-time staff (at least 35 hours per week) receive vacation time, and are able to bring their children to the school without paying tuition. Speak with our Director about details.
General Description All staff report to the Director. Classroom responsibilities include the planning and execution of appropriate early childhood experience with a variety of materials in the fields of art, music, literature, science and mathematics, as well as the supervision of activities which promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child. You will be responsible for checking the children’s general health each morning at ‘circle time’. Those children with contagious problems would be isolated at once, and parents notified to pick up their child. Any child with a contagious disease such as chicken pox, conjunctivitis, strep throat or lice, ringworm, etc. will not be readmitted to your center without a statement from the child’s physician.
You would not medicate any child for any reason, you would be allowed however to administer medication with written parental permission (refer to Parent’s Hand book). Your Primary source for developing lesson plans for this center is the core curriculum. It is written for the entire month. You will receive it a week or so before the beginning of each month. You will also draw your plans from the educational programs published by American Guidance Service. They will be used as an ancillary resource.
Teaching Qualifications All applicants will be required to pass a State mandated background check. Direct work experience and Teaching Degrees/ Certificates are preferred, but not required. A successful applicant must like working with children, and must like teaching. Other qualifications may be required based on which children you would be working with. Bus Driver Qualifications All applicants will be required to pass a State mandated background check. All drivers must possess a New Jersey CDL with school bus endorsement. A successful applicant must like working with children. Other qualifications may be required based on which children you would be working with. Speak with our Director about qualifications.
